Weightlifting: Morocco total 78 medals at Arab and African championships
The reported tally separates 47 medals at the Arab competition from 31 at the African competition.
Morocco’s weightlifting team won 78 medals at the Arab and African championships held in Algeria from 7 to 13 October 2026, Hespress reports in an article by Mohamed Fankar published on 18 October.
The Arab championships tally comprises 47 medals: 25 silver and 22 bronze. No gold medal appears in this part of the reported count.
For the African championships, the same report lists 31 medals: four gold, nine silver and 18 bronze. Combining both competitions therefore gives four gold medals, 34 silver and 40 bronze.
The 78 medals combine results from two competitions. They do not represent the number of Moroccan athletes who won medals: the report provides no individual breakdown allowing those athletes to be counted.
