Automotive remained Morocco’s leading export sector in 2025, with overseas sales of MAD159.228 billion, compared with MAD159.625 billion in 2024. The annual foreign trade report published on 15 October 2026 by the Foreign Exchange Office puts the decline at 0.2%.

The small overall fall masks differences between activities. Exports from the vehicle manufacturing ecosystem fell 13.5% to MAD61.389 billion. Wiring exports rose 9% to MAD60.464 billion. Growth in wiring therefore softened the manufacturing decline without fully offsetting it on its own.

Across all sectors, merchandise exports reached MAD470.048 billion in 2025, up 3% from 2024. Phosphates and derivatives accounted for MAD99.740 billion, an increase of 14.5%. The automotive decline therefore does not describe the trend in total exports.

These values concern 2025 rather than sales in 2026. The Office says it began updating automotive and aerospace sector data in May 2026 following the Industry and Trade Ministry’s revision of operator lists. Export values do not directly measure corporate profits or jobs created.
