Rabat: Abdellah El Bahmidi invites viewers to consider what the city conceals
The Hassan II Foundation announces a photography exhibition at Difaf gallery from 15 October to 12 November 2026. The opening is scheduled for 15 October at 6:30 p.m.

Difaf gallery at the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans living abroad in Rabat will host an exhibition by Abdellah El Bahmidi from 15 October to 12 November 2026. The official announcement of 9 October schedules the opening for 15 October at 6:30 p.m., with the Austria-based Moroccan photographer attending.
The Foundation describes a monochrome series exploring urban space and the relationship between appearance and disappearance. The title, circulated in French announcements as “Hidden/Hiding”, distinguishes what remains hidden from the act of hiding. This nuance is central to the announced approach.
Photographic framing selects what becomes visible and leaves other elements outside the frame. The exhibition thus proposes exploring the city through looking rather than listing monuments. This interpretation draws on the programme presented without claiming to replace discovering the images in the gallery.
Born in Azrou in 1946, El Bahmidi has practised photography since 1970, according to the organiser’s notice. The Foundation places this event within its mission to strengthen cultural ties between Moroccans abroad and their country. Visiting hours and admission conditions remain to be confirmed with it.
