Moroccan nationals can again submit visa applications at Taiwan’s overseas missions from 12 October. Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the measure in press release number 499, dated that day, specifying that the relevant regulations continue to apply.

Taipei presents the reopening as a response to Morocco’s decision to resume processing visa confirmation letter (VCL) applications from Taiwanese nationals on 21 September. That chronology is the account provided by Taiwan’s ministry.

The statement recalls that Morocco suspended acceptance of these VCL requests on 23 July. On 30 July, the Taiwanese authorities in turn announced a suspension of visa applications from Moroccans, citing reciprocity.

The change concerns the ability to submit an application, rather than a visa exemption or automatic approval. The announcement sets neither a new processing deadline nor a special fee. Travellers should check submission arrangements with the mission responsible for their application.
