Morocco’s Competition Council issued 190 decisions on economic concentrations in 2025. Of these, 185 concerned authorised operations and five declared operations non-notifiable, according to its 2025 annual report, published online on 16 October 2026.

Those five files therefore do not represent five refusals of authorisation. The report places them in a different category, non-notifiable operations. Treating every file outside the clearance count as a prohibition would change the meaning of the figures.

The total number of decisions was 162 in 2024, compared with 190 in 2025. The report’s historical table lists 155 authorisations in 2024 and 185 in 2025. Total decisions and clearances are thus separate indicators.

The figures cover merger-control activity during 2025. Publication in October 2026 does not turn them into a current-year tally. Nor do they, by themselves, measure jobs created, prices charged or the subsequent economic outcomes of the operations concerned.
