Ittihad Tanger puts Ali El Omari in charge of scouting
The club tasks him with building its scouting operation under its technical partnership with Olympique Lyonnais.

Ittihad Tanger has appointed Ali El Omari as Head of Scouting, responsible for talent identification and recruitment, the club announced on 15 October 2026. His role is to structure the search for players under the technical partnership with Olympique Lyonnais.
The announced remit covers Moroccan football, with particular attention to talent in the north, African leagues and Moroccans playing abroad. It includes potential first-team recruits and young players who could join the IRT Academy.
The club plans to combine live observation, video analysis and performance data. Recruitment recommendations must be coordinated with technical staff and remain subject to internal approval procedures. The appointment therefore does not announce any player signings.
According to IRT, El Omari headed Olympique de Marseille’s Africa scouting zone from January 2024 to January 2026, after responsibilities at Girondins de Bordeaux from 2021 to 2024. His stated assignment in Tanger concerns recruitment organisation; the statement does not appoint him first-team coach.
