Médiouna: Al Ihssane takes shape, with no opening date announced
Officials visited the cemetery project on 15 October. Published figures describe its planned scale, rather than the start of operations.

The Al Ihssane cemetery project in Sidi Hajjaj Oued Hassar, Médiouna province, received an official visit on 15 October 2026. AlYaoum24 reported on 17 October that regional president Abdellatif Maâzouz, wali Mohamed Mhidia and governor Salem Chagaf inspected the completed works.
The outlet reports an area of around 118 hectares and an overall budget of 75 million dirhams, including 30 million contributed by Casablanca-Settat region. The regional contribution therefore represents 40% of the announced total.
The project aims to ease pressure on burial grounds serving Casablanca and its surroundings. Its planned scale is presented against a forty-year horizon. That horizon describes the project’s objective, rather than a capacity duration already demonstrated in operation.
The report gives no precise public opening date or arrangements for receiving families. The visit provides an update on the works; it does not establish that the cemetery is already accepting burials.
