Fresh produce: Morocco leads Spain’s suppliers by value
From January to July 2026, Spanish purchases of Moroccan origin rose in euro terms while tonnage fell.

Morocco was Spain’s leading supplier by value of fresh fruit and vegetables in the first seven months of 2026. Spanish imports of Moroccan origin reached €982 million, up 5% year on year, according to Spanish customs figures processed by FEPEX and published on 15 October.
The ranking changes when quantities are considered. France remained first with 681,099 tonnes, up 4%. Morocco followed with 373,958 tonnes, down 8% compared with January-July 2025.
The two Moroccan trends can therefore coexist: more value traded and less volume. The aggregate figures alone do not establish whether the gap reflects a uniform price rise, a particular product or improved exporter profits.
Spain imported a total of 2.87 million tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables worth €3.471 billion over the period. These are seven-month figures for fresh produce entering the Spanish market. They describe neither all Moroccan agricultural exports nor the full-year 2026 outcome.
