MUR collective volume examines the Sahara through several lenses
Ten contributions address autonomy, national unity and the cultural dimensions of the issue.

The Movement for Unity and Reform has published a collective volume titled “The Moroccan Sahara: approaches to unity and reform”, a translation of its Arabic title. Hespress outlined its themes on 19 October 2026. It brings together ten contributors, including Aous Rammal, Rachid El Adouni, Saïd Saddiki and Bouthayna Karouri.
The book addresses autonomy and religious arguments for unity alongside the cultural dimensions of national belonging. One contribution explores Hassani culture’s place within Moroccan culture. Others examine the African dimension of the issue and regional integration, according to Hespress’s account.
In its introduction, the movement links the publication to its understanding of reform and civic responsibility. The interpretations belong to their authors and set out an intellectual and activist approach to the Sahara. The volume seeks to extend discussion beyond diplomacy to education, culture and society.
