Al Hoceima: fish landings fall 14% in the first nine months of 2026
The port recorded 1,655 tonnes worth around MAD90.64 million, according to ONP figures relayed by Hespress.

Coastal and artisanal fish landings at Al Hoceima port reached 1,655 tonnes in the first nine months of 2026, down 14% year on year. Hespress reported the National Fisheries Office figures on 18 October.
Their market value fell 17% to around MAD90.64 million, compared with more than MAD109.01 million in the same period of 2025. Both landed volume and value therefore declined, but by different proportions.
The pattern varies by product: cephalopods totalled 1,066 tonnes, down 18%, while white fish rose 10% to 266 tonnes. The port’s overall result therefore does not mean that every category fell uniformly.
Nationally, the same report lists 965,832 tonnes marketed, up 19%, with a value of more than MAD8.68 billion, up 6%. These figures cover January to September rather than September alone, and do not measure fishers’ profits.
