Marrakech: Marion Cotillard to chair a jury focused on early films
The 23rd edition runs from 20 to 28 November 2026. The jury will award the Golden Star to a first or second feature film.
Marion Cotillard will chair the jury of the Marrakech International Film Festival, scheduled for 20 to 28 November 2026. The festival Foundation announced her appointment in its 13 October statement. This will be the 23rd edition.
The jury will award the Golden Star among the first and second features in international competition. That remit gives the appointment its significance: an established actor will consider filmmakers who are beginning to build their body of work.
In the statement released by the organiser, Cotillard stresses the importance of supporting directors at the start of their careers. This expresses her intention for the festival; it does not anticipate the film selection or the eventual awards.
Audiences already have the dates and the name of the jury president. The full jury and screening programme remain to be followed in the Foundation’s announcements. No winning film can be identified before the deliberations.
