At Gallery Kent in Tangier, Mohamed Jaamati brings recent paintings together with works from the 1980s and 1990s in “À travers la fenêtre”. The MAP report published by Madar21 on 10 October places the opening on Friday 9 October and announces an exhibition running until 9 November 2026.

The painter tells the agency that he wants to connect different periods of his research. Tetouan and its architectural surroundings are central to the motifs described: windows, balconies and everyday details. Watercolour and acrylic are among the techniques presented.

This juxtaposition invites viewers to read the city across time. A familiar motif can change function between paintings: a record of a place, a memory or a starting point for pictorial construction. Comparing periods thus offers a different perspective from a simple sequence of urban views.

Jaamati also stresses charcoal lines, canvas and variations in colour. These describe his artistic intention as reported by MAP, rather than the newsroom’s judgement of works seen in the gallery. Opening hours and admission conditions remain to be confirmed with the gallery.
