Fuel prices: Yamani proposes changes to taxation, refining and pricing
The union statement reported on 11 October combines four demands. It is neither a government decision nor evidence of a price cut.

Houssaine Yamani calls for changes to fuel policy to protect purchasing power. According to Alyaoum24 on 11 October, the CDT union official advocates four measures: removing taxes, restarting refining in Mohammedia, restoring regulated prices and revising storage and distribution rules.
The proposal combines a fiscal measure with sector restructuring. Tax amounts and refining margins cited in the statement are the speaker’s estimates, not an independently verified calculation of pump prices here. This article therefore does not add them together to promise a saving per litre.
Restarting refining is a demand, without evidence in the reviewed sources that a restart has been decided or completed. Likewise, advocating price regulation does not mean a new official pricing formula has been adopted.
The debate requires separating the social objective, proposed tools and conditions for implementation. Evaluating these options would require evidence on budget effects, industrial costs and responsibility for stocks. A union statement opens that discussion; it does not by itself demonstrate the expected outcome.
