The Berrechid branch of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights is calling for organised markets close to residential areas for street vendors. AlYaoum24 reported the demand on 19 October 2026, citing a statement dated 17 October.

The association addresses provincial and local authorities and the municipal council. It wants dialogue with vendors’ representatives to develop ways of managing public space that take account of livelihoods and working conditions.

The demand accompanies its objection to operations it describes as pursuits and confiscations of goods and equipment. This is the association’s position as relayed by the outlet. The account consulted includes no response from the authorities and announces neither an agreement nor a market already established.
