Diaspora transfers: what the 9% increase measures
Transfers reached 89.215 billion dirhams through August 2026, according to Foreign Exchange Office figures reported by Hespress.
Hespress reports a 9% increase in transfers by Moroccans abroad over the first eight months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.
The total measures money transferred. It does not describe each household’s income or the reasons for every transfer. Comparisons must use the same period and distinguish the aggregate from individual families’ circumstances.
