Olympics 2028: Morocco women advance after Congo withdraws
Morocco will face the winner of Comoros against Nigeria in early 2027.

Morocco’s senior women’s team has reached the third round of African qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games. In a statement dated 6 October 2026, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation says FIFA notified it of the team’s advancement after FECOFOOT decided to withdraw Congo’s women’s side from the qualifiers.
The advance follows that withdrawal. The announcement therefore reports neither a victory on the pitch nor a match score. It does not explain the reasons behind the Congolese federation’s decision.
Morocco’s next opponent will be the winner of the tie between Comoros and Nigeria. The Moroccan federation places the third round in early 2027, without giving exact match dates or venues in this notice.
This step does not secure a place at the Olympic tournament. Morocco remains in the African qualifying competition and must progress through the subsequent rounds. Supporters will first need the next opponent to be confirmed, followed by the confirmed match schedule.
