Morocco: non-formal education classes scheduled to start on 5 October

The ministry’s calendar sets Monday as the start of lessons for non-formal education and Second Chance classes.

Monday 5 October 2026 is the scheduled start of lessons for non-formal education and Second Chance classes in Morocco. The Education Ministry states this in its official reminder published on 7 August, consulted again on 5 October.

The calendar distinguishes these classes from other education levels, whose lessons were scheduled to begin on 7 September. For the families concerned, using the general school-start date would therefore confuse two different deadlines.

The national date provides a reference point. To organise the first day, it remains useful to confirm the location, time and practical information with the relevant institution. The statement does not set out these arrangements for every establishment.

The ministry calls on families, education professionals and partners to respect school time and learning time. At this stage, the calendar confirms the announced date, but does not measure attendance or establish how the start of classes is proceeding on the ground.
