Jamal Sellami at Al-Fateh: appointed, results still to come

Medi1News reports on 8 October 2026 the appointment of Morocco’s Jamal Sellami to lead Al-Fateh’s first team in Saudi Arabia.

Yabiladi also carries the announcement. Both publications draw on MAP: they confirm the news is circulating, rather than providing two independent investigations. The ambitions for improvement remain the club’s stated aims.

Our analysis: changing coaches creates an opportunity to work, not a guarantee of recovery. Sellami should be assessed on what his team produces over time, rather than the expressions of confidence accompanying his appointment.

For Moroccan readers, following this career means distinguishing a national coach’s presence abroad from the performance of the group he will lead. Upcoming matches will provide concrete evidence. The sources consulted do not specify a salary or contract length here, so we assign no figures to either.
