CAF conference in Cape Verde: what should follow?

CAF schedules its strategy conference for 7 to 9 October 2026 in Santa Maria, on Cape Verde’s Sal Island. Football development is on the agenda.

The Cape Verdean presidency also announced the opening ceremony on 8 October. Its note anticipates a final declaration, which should be distinguished from a text already adopted. The sources consulted outline objectives and dates, without establishing a record of decisions here.

Our analysis: published commitments reveal more about a conference’s consequences than participant numbers. Who is responsible for acting, with what resources and by when? These questions give supporters a practical framework for following coaching and football organisation.

A declaration may clarify shared priorities. Implementation will still need to be observed within federations, through identifiable actions and documented results. It would be premature to treat the meeting itself as proof of sporting improvement already achieved.
