Casablanca: an opportunity to explore Adil El Fadili’s cinema

Casa24 and Al Ittihad announce a meeting with Adil El Fadili on 10 October 2026 at 3.30 pm, at the Hassan II Mosque Foundation’s media library in Casablanca.

The announced programme pairs the short film “Courte Vie” with a discussion involving Hassan Naraïs and Leïla Baraâ. The meeting is still to come.

Our reading: pairing a screening with a conversation can make a filmmaker’s choices easier to understand. A question about framing, editing or the role of silence gives audiences a concrete way into how a film is made. It also allows the conversation to go beyond a career retrospective.

This potential will depend on the actual discussion. An announcement tells us nothing yet about the film’s reception or the director’s remarks. To prepare, watching a work and then forming a precise question seems more fruitful than expecting a tribute alone. We offer this approach without anticipating what will be said.
