The ministry reports 15.7 million tourist arrivals in Morocco by the end of September 2026, up 5% year on year, according to Médias24 and Le Matin on 8 October.

For September alone, the same publications report over 1.5 million arrivals and an 8% increase. The nine-month total and the monthly result cover different periods.

Our reading: arrival numbers provide a useful reference, but cannot alone describe what each area gains from tourism. Length of stay, spending and its distribution raise other questions. Turning this total into a measure of every professional’s income would therefore be premature.

A careful reading can welcome the reported growth while asking for more detail about its effects. Which places benefit from stays, and how is attendance spread across the year? These questions extend the discussion without disputing the figure or changing its meaning. Both articles relay a ministry communication rather than two independent audits.
