The World Bank’s Morocco profile in the October 2026 Macro Poverty Outlook projects growth of 4.4% this year and 4.0% in 2027. These are projections, not a final assessment of Morocco’s annual economic performance.

The institution expects agriculture to rebound by 12% in 2026, alongside 3.5% growth in non-agricultural activity. This difference helps explain why overall growth could ease as agriculture returns to a more normal pace.

The World Bank also stresses that growth does not yet create enough jobs to absorb job seekers. GDP growth alone therefore cannot describe access to work or improvements in living standards.

The scenario carries important reservations: climate conditions, a prolonged Middle East conflict and slower European growth. Reading the forecast requires keeping those assumptions alongside the headline figure, rather than presenting the trajectory as already achieved.
