Moroccan import unit values rose by 10% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter of 2025. Export unit values increased by 10.9%, according to the High Commission for Planning’s note published on 5 October.

For imports, energy and lubricants recorded a 53.1% increase. Food, beverages and tobacco fell by 0.6%. Changes therefore vary considerably between product groups.

A unit value divides the value of goods by their quantity. These indices help track foreign trade prices; they do not directly show changes in volumes or the total bill.

Businesses must therefore distinguish unit costs, quantities purchased and total expenditure. Today’s release covers April to June, rather than October trade.
