# Madiha Khayr’s government duties brought to an end

The King accepted the head of government’s request, according to the Royal Cabinet statement published by Les ECO.

King Mohammed VI has accepted the head of government’s request to end Madiha Khayr’s duties. Les ECO published the Royal Cabinet statement announcing the decision on 18 October 2026.

She held the post of minister delegate responsible for vocational training and qualification, attached to the minister of national education, preschool, vocational training and qualification.

The statement specifies that the request came from the head of government and cites Article 47 of the Constitution. It does not describe the decision as a personal resignation by the minister.

Madiha Khayr was listed in the government appointed on 16 October, as published by Maroc.ma. The statement ending her duties names no successor and gives no reason for the request.

In an 18 October statement reported by Hespress, government spokesperson Samir Belfkih describes the decision as the result of a political and institutional assessment shared by the majority’s constituent parties. He says the aim is to refocus debate on the government programme and citizens’ expectations. This is the government’s explanation.
