# Algeria approves its 2027 draft budget; wage details remain unspecified

Algeria’s Council of Ministers approved the 2027 finance bill on 4 October. The presidential statement published by public broadcaster ENTV says Abdelmadjid Tebboune instructed officials to include the announced wage increases.

The president also instructed them to avoid taxes that would undermine the purchasing power of lower-income or middle-class households. This is guidance for the draft, rather than a quantified announcement about each household’s income.

The budget section specifies neither the increase rates nor the beneficiaries or payment timetable. It cannot establish an individual pay rise or a payment date.

For families and Algerians abroad following their relatives’ incomes, approval of a draft does not by itself explain its implementation. The precise provisions must be checked against published texts.
